Air Force Village West: Design-Built of Cooling Tower Emergnecy Replacements and Upgrades

Scope of Work :

Project Overview

• A design-built project to replace and upgrade an undersized central plant for the Air Force Village West including Skill Nursing and Special Care Facilities, Assisted Living Buildings, and Kitchen & Dining.
  
  

Scope of Work

• Installation of two cooling
  towers for redundancy and
  backup, and electrical
  supports for mechanical
  upgrades.
  
  
• Electrical systems were
  designed for connection to
  the existing emergency
  distribution board and
  emergency generators.
  
  
• New controls with variable
  frequency drive VFD were
  installed for cost effective
  and energy savings.
  
  
• Performed a study and
  evaluation of the existing
  two pipe chilled/hot water
  systems for the entire complex. In the report, DTA carefully analyzed the causes and effects of building pressures, weather effects, diversity occupancies’ effects, and system cooling/heating load calculations.
  
  
• Worked closely with building engineers and building operators to provide several alternative solutions. Budgets were developed for each approach.
  
  
• Provided a complete project management through the construction phase, and worked closely with the contractors to maintain the phased schedule.
